Have you ever eaten a worm? I haven’t, but I’ve had a worm-flavored jelly bean. It tasted like soil and raw meat. It wasn’t pleasant.

Today I was watching an episode of The Walking Dead, and a girl dug her fingers into the dirt, pulled out a stretchy earthworm, and popped it in her mouth.

She then pulled one out for her friend. When she saw he was hesitant to taste the worm, she put it in her mouth and sucked away the dirt for him — a small and beautiful act of kindness.
