I watched a poignant documentary called Happy that researched happiness around the world, through many cultures. They found that money equates to happiness only when there isn’t enough to provide basic needs.
Once shelter, food, and water are covered- money is only superficial. Rich or poor, happiness seems to be related to interpersonal relationships and self-growth.
Humans are champion adapters. We not only excel at change but crave it- even if we don’t realize it. Removing yourself from the familiar for a while can allow you to return refreshed.
