Whisper

A poem and a cold

Laryngitis has made me gentle.

I whisper, “I love you.”

I softly utter, “Clean your room.” and “Don’t put that in your mouth!”

Like a butterfly gently alighting on a petal

“What the fuck?”

I am a whispering poet warrior

Warrior means mom in 20 languages (all of them in my mind)

I have words jumbled and tumbled and shoved down my throat

Words are my ball gag in disturbing anime

I’m just sitting here trying not to swallow

Trying not to feel

Whispering

“Shit.”
